Moscow Gala Proclaimed “Fantastic”
As the last notes of Louis Armstrong’s rendition of “Fantastic, That’s You” brought a close to NAFA’s annual gala fur fashion show, the many guests were nodding in agreement. It was a fitting ending for a fantastic night.
This evening event on October 18, 2012 began with a bevy of celebrities, fashion media, government officials and fur trade VIPs descending on the Dom Chertkova villa in central Moscow. Over 400 guests enjoyed a champagne reception while admiring the stunning architectural detail of this 19th century mansion.
Guests were ushered into the Grand Hall where Diane Benedetti, NAFA’s Senior Vice President, Marketing, and Oksana Moroz, Eastern Europe Marketing Director, offered a warm welcome. A Top Lot award ceremony began the evening with Bobby Poulios, Vice President, Buyer Relations, presenting plaques to the buyers of Top Lots from the February and May 2012 auctions.
Moments later, an outstanding collection of fur fashion in fine quality NAFA furs began to unfold on the catwalk. Fratelli Gio debuted with an Italian inspired collection of NAFA Mink in brown tones ranging from soft pastel to warm mahogany. The international designers featured on the catwalk were Gianfranco Ferre, Michael Kors and Zac Posen. The highlights of their fur collections in NAFA Mink were extremely chic with a precision cut that gave the simple designs an ultimate sophistication.
NAFA’s Northern Lights collection in raccoon found instant approval with the audience with its young, trendy feel. These flawless, delicate furs seemed to float down the catwalk. As always, the sheer beauty of Black NAFA Mink crafted in a unique garment from each brand had the guests in awe. NAFA’s 2012 signature garment by Natalia Valevskaya closed the show to tremendous applause. As guests departed, they were all in agreement that NAFA has the most fantastic collection of furs to be found anywhere.
